What We Believe

OUR VISION

To build the church of Jesus Christ by helping people identify their gifts and calling, by equipping them with the skills necessary to fulfill their calling, and by establishing them in effective service.

OUR VALUES

Pursuit of God - We seek God and wait expectantly for his presence in all that we do (John 4:34; 5:19-20).

The Bible - As evangelical Christians, the Bible is our final authority: our approach to life and ministry is shaped by the counsel of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Unity - Our brothers and sisters are not our enemies. We love what Jesus loves: the whole church (Ephesians 4:3-6).

Mexico Mission Team Equipping - God calls and enables believers to express the talents, gifts and ministries that he has set aside for them. The orientation of all ministry is toward the integration of biblical truth into everyday living that impacts our community and beyond (Ephesians 4:11-13).

Generosity - We are stewards of God's gifts and resources (Matthew 10:8,39; 13:45-46). We do not own our ministries, so they are not ours to keep. We "give to get to give".

Simplicity - We want to be "naturally supernatural," avoiding behavior that draws attention away from God and to ourselves (1 Corinthians 2:2-5; James 3:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12).

Compassion and Mercy - We desire to accept into our fellowship any sincere believer who is attempting to walk in obedience to God, is repentant of his or her sins, and is in submission to the authority of the church. God's mercy always triumphs over judgment (James 2:13; John 8:1-11).

Personal Relationship - Caring for people is our highest priority after submission to God, because the purpose of the cross was the redemption of men and women (Romans 12:9-13; 1 Corinthians 13:4-9; Colossians 3:12-14).

Risk Taking - We know that gifting develops in an environment of trial-and-error, so we are willing to be patient with people's weaknesses and failures while they learn (John 21:15-19; Galatians 5:22-23).

OUR PRIORITIES

Worship
We desire to worship God with our whole being. We want Jesus at the center as our Lord. We hunger for the fullness of his Spirit... His glory resting upon us! We desire Spirit-enabled worship in a style that is intimate, dynamic, culture-current, and life-changing.

The Word
We want to hear the Word of God taught in a practical, inspiring way, under the administration of the Holy Spirit. We aim to hear and obey God's word to us... to be "doers of the Word" who are being transformed into the likeness of Christ.

Fellowship
We are the family of God, one Body in Jesus Christ, joined together as brothers and sisters forever. We seek to develop real, intimate, enabling friendships, built on covenant love, mutual responsibility, and faithfulness.

Ministry
We believe that all Christians are called to serve Christ in the power of His Spirit in ways that build up the local church. We are called to do the ministry of Christ in the world today. For example, to:

preach the Gospel of the Kingdom
persuade people to repent and believe in Jesus
heal the sick
care for the poor and those in need
counsel those in need of God's wisdom
teach believers to follow Christ
give our resources to the work of Christ
train Christians to serve the Lord

Training
We believe that all Christians should be trained to "do the works of Christ." We are committed to the "show and tell" model of "on the job" training, in which trainees are introduced to doing ministry functions with trainers, and then are taught during and after the training experience. We aim to provide training for all aspects of responsible Christian life and ministry.

Sending
We aim to renew, refresh and enable existing churches by sending trained personnel out on short-term ministry trips. We aim to build the Church of Jesus Christ by sending trained personnel to plant churches around the world.
